Position Summary:
As a member of the Department of Pediatrics Research Administration team, the Assistant Research Administrator will be supervised and primarily trained and directed by the Research Administrator of the department. This position will responsible for assisting both the Associate Administrator, the Research Administrator and the Director of Research to support post-award and other fiscal administration support and also perform administrative needs for the Child Health Research Institute. The Assistant Research Administrator will be trained to assist in the compliant financial and administrative management of sponsored awards. This position provides an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with potential for career growth in the field of research administration for those presenting a willingness to learn and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of faculty and staff.
Core Responsibilities:
Financial Administration 45% (includes: oversees departmental procurement and related compliance monitoring, account reconciliation, vendor payment tracking etc.)
Post-Award Research Administration 40% (includes: financial/administrative management of sponsored research portfolios, monthly reconciliation and sponsor payment tracking, sponsored project deficit tracking, etc.)
Child Health Research Institute Administrative Support 10% (includes: scheduling theme meetings, assisting CHRI Director and theme leaders, logistical support, assisting Associate Administrator with financial reporting, assist with K-Club administration, etc.)
Other Research Administration duties 5% (includes: assisting with Chrome River preapprovals and reimbursement reports, participate in departmental meetings and SOMRA training opportunities, maintain current knowledge and understanding of NIH, etc., policies and regulations, etc.)
