Advertising Summary:The VCU School of Dentistry is seeking applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the Department of General Practice Dentistry, Division of Dental Hygiene program to supervise dental hygiene students. 

Adjunct clinical instructors are responsible to arrive early for clinic sessions as well as attend faculty meetings and required training as requested. Adjunct clinical instructors must demonstrate and model the expertise expected of a dental hygiene professional.

Department: General Practice, Division of Dental Hygiene

Duties & Responsibilities:

The purpose of these positions is to assist dental hygiene students in developing the knowledge and skills to provide oral health care to patients from a variety of cultural or socioeconomic backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in dental hygiene or a related field
  • Current dental hygiene license
  • Current CPR card
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Prior teaching experience
