Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the supervision and with guidance from the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer the Program Manager for Investigations and Analytics will serve as the primary case manager for the Integrity and Compliance Office. The responsibilities include:
• Assessing whether a report falls within the purview of the ICO.
• Conducting intake interviews with reporters.
• Conducting investigations of reported issues.
• Coordinating with, and serving as a resource for, ICO partner offices on investigations and related issues.
• Managing the ICO’s case management solution (Currently CaseIQ). This includes making sure all case related data, documents, and outcomes are cataloged in the system.
• Following up with units post-investigation to determine whether recommendations have been followed.
• Conducting root cause analysis to help mitigate risk in the future.
• Serve as the primary data steward and data analyst for all ICO case data. This includes producing ad hoc reports as requested by ICO/ACS leadership, as well as preparing data for Board of Visitors related reports and the ICO annual report. This also includes conduct ongoing analysis to identify best practices and opportunities for using data to improve program effectiveness, support root cause analysis and drive prevention of misconduct.
• Develop and support risk assessments, and compliance reviews; provide reports to various university stakeholders; monitor progress on initiatives to ensure completion and resolution.
• Conduct formal and informal trainings for campus partners on both the case management system and investigative techniques when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and/or ACS leadership.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training, experience, and demonstrated knowledge base.
• Experience in conducting internal investigations in a professional or law enforcement setting.
• Superior comprehension, analytical ability, critical thinking, professionalism, and attention to detail are critical to this position.
• Experience with the creation, coordination, management, and assessment of projects and data is expected.
• Ability to develop and implement training programs in the areas of investigation process and procedures and case management.
• Ability to develop, update, and maintain the Ethics & Compliance Program’s investigation and case management standard operating procedures, an independent and proactive review of complex issues; conduct research and document analysis on significant matters; prepare and present findings and conclusions to management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication development and delivery skills.
• Excellent research and decision-making skills.
• Highest degree of professionalism, civility and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to collaborate, work and lead projects/initiatives in a team environment.

• Strong project management skills with the capability to establish action plans, set clear goals, monitor and communicate progress, and follow through on all initiatives to completion.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
• At least one year of experience working in higher education, academic medical centers, highly regulated industries, or experience working with highly regulated activities.
• Certification in Compliance, either CCEP, CHC, LPEC or related, or interest and ability to obtain certification within the first 12 months of employment.
• Experience managing a case management solution i.e CaseIQ, NAVEX, Maxient or Convercent.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90.000
