FULL-TIME HOUSEKEEPER
The Housekeeper is responsible for performing a wide variety of housekeeping services at all Recreation & Well-Being facilities. Housekeepers attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail and create a clean and orderly environment for our patrons. This position will report to the Housekeeping Manager.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Environmental Services:
Perform a wide variety of cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
Porter, clean, and deep clean activity spaces, classrooms, offices, and outdoor spaces at all Recreation & Well-Being facilities.
Perform floor work on a variety of surfaces, including carpet, epoxy, rubber, wood, and synthetic turf.
Ensure all rooms are cared for according to established standards.
Perform intensive cleaning and special housekeeping projects as needed.
Notify supervisors of any damages, defects, and unsafe conditions.
Report low inventories to the Housekeeping Coordinator in a timely manner.
Perform housekeeping duties during special events.
Risk Management
Perform housekeeping tasks to ensure sanitation and cleanliness using standard cleaning methods and appropriate housekeeping equipment.
Ensure member safety when performing work and use appropriate signage to notify members of work being performed.
Obtain appropriate training to ensure proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications:
Required:
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Ability to perform a variety of housekeeping tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
Ability to adapt and move quickly from task to task.
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment.
Other requirements:
Position involves working evenings and weekends.
Position is located in a non-smoking work area.
Preferred:
Ability to use standard housekeeping equipment, including auto scrubbers, floor buffers, and chemical dispensers.
Experience maintaining various flooring surfaces, including wood, tile, polished concrete, and epoxy.
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
Salary Range: $33,280

Annual security and fire safety report
