Department: Urology

Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department of Urology is the pursuit of excellence in all three areas of an academic surgical practice: teaching, research, and patient care. 

Chief Purpose of the Position: The Department of Urology is recruiting for an open rank, term, non-tenured track faculty position in the area of urology. The candidate will primarily provide clinical services at the CMH Campus located in South Hill, VA, to include clinic, operative services, and call coverage.

Teaching
The faculty member is expected to conduct resident grand rounds 1-2 times per year and attend via zoom 60% of the
time.
Research
The faculty member is expected to participate in clinical trials as available.
Service
The faculty member is expected to serve on departmental and/or health system committees as necessary.
Clinical
The faculty member is expected to build and maintain a busy, patient centered clinical practice. This includes both
inpatient and outpatient management of all general urological diagnoses and operative procedures.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from ACGME accredited residency
Board Certification or Eligibility in Urology
Superior communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level
Experience in quality and education

Salary Range:  Commensurate
