Duties & Responsibilities:

This full-time pediatric radiologist will provide specialized diagnostic radiology - pediatric imaging interpretation including CT, MR, US, fluoroscopy, and radiographs excluding interventional radiology and nuclear medicine, with the use of state-of-the-art equipment. They will also train residents within the large, highly productive academic radiology department.

  1. Teaching-Provide training to medical students, residents and fellows who rotate through the Department of Radiology.
  2. Research-Continue to promote professional relationships with all Pediatric subspecialties to foster interdisciplinary research.
  3. Service-Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities. This shall include college, school, and departmental committee work, professional growth and other such assignments.
  4. Clinical-Provide high quality sub-specialized imaging interpretations for assigned modalities in support of the referring physicians and patients of the VCUHS. Responsibilities include all facets of pediatric radiology (conventional radiographs, CT, MR, US, and fluoroscopy). Special interest or skills in acute care imaging and oncology.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pediatric Radiology fellowship training or equivalent Pediatric Radiology experience
  • ABR certification or will have passed the Core Component of the ABR Board examination
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
  • An interest and commitment to teaching residents and medical students
  • Candidate must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure
  • Must be eligible for permanent employment in the USA
