Duties & Responsibilities:

Enterprise Marketing and Communications is seeking to hire a Part Time Production Assistant to assist in their Marketing department. General duties for this role include:

• Provide administrative support including scheduling, email correspondence, and meeting coordination for the Video
and Photography Services team.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining production calendars, shoot logistics, and equipment inventory.
• Support the Production Coordinator for photo and video shoots, including booking locations, securing releases, and
occasionally preparing call sheets.
• Help manage digital asset organization when needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Photo/Video, Public Affairs, and Brand Marketing to ensure
smooth project workflows.
• Track and process invoices for photoshoots, and other administrative documentation.
• Maintain clear communication with internal and external stakeholders to support project timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in communications, media production,
marketing, or a related field.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in an administrative, production, or customer service role, preferably within a
creative or media environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• Familiarity with media production processes, terminology, and logistics.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as needed for production support.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience supporting photo and video production, including booking locations, preparing call sheets, and
managing releases.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Premiere Pro, Photoshop, or Lightroom.
• Experience organizing and maintaining digital asset libraries or media archives.
• Interest in photography, video production, or brand storytelling.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, creative environment.
• Prior experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.

Salary Range: $20.00 an hour
