The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University, candidates to apply for the Postdoctoral Research Associate - AI for Cybersecurity position.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop and expand upon a diversified technical skill set while making a positive contribution to Agentic AI in Cybersecurity.

Research projects for this position will involve Machine Learning and Computer Vision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI or Cybersecurity.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience publishing in high-impact journals in their domains.  In this position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and collaborate with a vast network of scientists and engineers in other Universities.


Required Qualifications:

- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, or a closely related field.

- Experience in programming Python or Equivalent

- Experience in publishing IEEE or ACM transactions or journals

- Ability to mentor junior team members, and ensure the highest levels of laboratory safety.

- Excellent communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and short turnaround times

- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a postdoc at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications: 

- Interest in Agentic AI

- Interest in Deepfake or Cybersecurity
