The Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering Department of the College of Engineering seeks candidates to apply for the Office Assistant position.

Since its inception in 1996, the Virginia Commonwealth University College of Engineering has brought innovative, real-world engineering education to Central Virginia. Comprised of five different departments plus the Dean’s office, the College of Engineering enrolls more than 2,000 undergraduate and 450 graduate students in several degree programs supported by more than 600 full-time, part-time, and student employees. Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high level of maturity, and a warm, welcoming attitude with a background in customer service is essential.
  • This position requires an individual with strong communication skills, strong organizational skills, demonstrated administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in sophisticated office systems, specifically Microsoft Office and Google suite products.
  • Responsible, mature, selfstarter, with the ability to handle sensitive/confidential matters with a friendly and professional tone is required.
  • Ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with or interest in artificial intelligence or data analysis.
  • Experience working at a higher education institution is  preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a similar administrative environment is preferred

 

Salary Range: $13 - $15 per hour
