Duties & Responsibilities:

Chief purpose:  

To provide specialized imaging interpretation in the Division of Nuclear Medicine with the use of state-of-the-art equipment. This full-time nuclear medicine position will train residents in the large, highly productive academic radiology department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching  Provide training to medical students, residents & fellows who rotate through the Division of Nuclear Medicine including Nuclear Medicine residency, Radiology residency, Cardiology fellowship, Radiation Oncology residency, medical student elective and serve as advisor to Nuclear Medicine technologist program, School of Allied Health.
  2. Research   Oversight and implementation of clinical research involving Nuclear Medicine facilities, including review of protocols involving Nuclear Medicine imaging services and radiopharmaceuticals treatments.
  3. Service Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities.  This shall include college, school, and departmental committee work, professional growth, and other such assignments. 
  4. Clinical   Provide high quality sub-specialized imaging interpretations for assigned modalities in support of the referring physicians and patients of the VCUHS.  Responsibilities include all facets of nuclear medicine (general planar imaging, SPECT and SPECT/CT, PET/CT, nuclear cardiology and radiopharmaceutical therapies). Special interest or skills in acute care imaging, Oncology and Pediatric Imaging.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
  • Applicants should be Board Eligible/Certified in Nuclear Medicine with experience in the full scope of Nuclear Medicine services
  • Candidate must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure
  • Must be eligible for permanent employment in the USA

Under the direct supervision of the department head, the Catalog Maintenance Associate will serve as the primary catalog maintenance liaison for this consolidation project. This role requires active daily collaboration, including attending daily on site check in meetings with project stakeholders to keep operations moving smoothly. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily review of exceptions arising from the consolidation project, routing them to the responsible departments, and performing routine corrections to catalog data for selected collections spanning both the James Branch Cabell and Health Sciences Libraries. This is a project-limited position not to exceed two years. Primary Responsibilities: • Catalog Maintenance: Assess the accuracy of inventory and bibliographic information on items of the VCU Libraries collections. Perform bibliographic searching and edit bibliographic and physical inventory records to ensure absolute data integrity. • Systems & Tools: Work primarily within Alma, our integrated library management system, alongside Google applications such as Sheets, Google Meet, and Gmail. • Workflow Coordination: Monitor the routing of catalog exceptions to ensure their timely return to the active project workflows and resolve catalog reviews of physical inventory.
