Department Summary: The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology of Virginia Commonwealth University is committed to an outstanding education of professional and graduate students as well as to cutting edge research. Duties & Responsibilities:

The Hourly Lab Technician will assist with studying reward, dependence and pain by using mouse models. The Hourly Lab Technician will also results and report to supervisor.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Undergraduate or a B.S. in Chemistry or Biology or equivalent
  • Prior experience in administering drugs to rodent lab animals is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred experience with models of pain
  • Willingness to learn biochemical and molecular biology techniques such as PCR and western blot

Salary Range: $20-$25/hr
