Mission or goal of unit: The mission of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is to strengthen the health of our rural community by providing accessible, high-quality digestive care, fostering strong partnerships with local providers, and supporting patients through every stage of diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management.

Chief Purpose of this Position: The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at VCU is seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to join our team at Community Memorial Hospital, located in the scenic and welcoming community of South Hill, Virginia.  J1 candidates are encouraged to apply.  Ideal opportunity for a physician seeking a collaborative and supportive environment within a superb hospital system.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm schedule
  • 10 days call coverage per month (evenings and weekends)
  • Additional call pay available beyond 10 days
  • 2 days clinic, 3 days procedures weekly

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board certified or board eligible in gastroenterology from an accredited training program
  • Virginia licensure or ability to obtain
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty at VCU.

Salary Range: Commensurate
