Department Summary: The Finance Technician plays a vital role within the Finance Department by ensuring daily accounting operations run smoothly, accurately, and in compliance with organizational policies. This position serves as the frontline support for transaction processing, financial record-keeping, and internal administrative workflows.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Process the disbursement and delivery of all payments. .Process ACH reversal requests, stop payments and check voids. Handle special check requests. Maintain professional and positive relations with the university departments, employees, students, vendors and banks courteously and promptly...

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

-Knowledge of automated accounting systems
-Knowledge of general office machines, including laptops and PC’s
-Public contact and excellent communication, data entry, computer and word processing skills
-Ability to plan and schedule work to meet priorities and multiple deadlines daily
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences
-Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

-Ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret complex financial data and draw sound conclusions
-Demonstrated capacity for independent thought, intellectual honesty and decision making
-Ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments

Salary Range: 50,000 - 54,000
