We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Kitchen Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Kitchen Manager in preparing nutritious, appealing, and age-appropriate meals for young children in our preschool program. Your culinary expertise will help foster healthy eating habits and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment. Duties & Responsibilities:

● Stand in for Kitchen Manager in times of absence or planned leave.
● Prepare and serve balanced, nutritious meals and snacks tailored to preschool-aged children, following dietary guidelines and menu plans.
● Follow weekly menus that incorporate variety, seasonal ingredients, and meet dietary restrictions or allergies.
● Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety standards and sanitation protocols.
● Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, equipment, and storage spaces in compliance with health regulations.
● Collaborate with Kitchen Manager to coordinate meal times and accommodate special dietary needs or requests.
● Manage inventory by ordering supplies, checking expiration dates, and minimizing waste.
 
Skills
● Meal prep experience within a food service setting.
● Understanding menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques suitable for young children.
● Extensive knowledge of food safety practices, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures.
● Flexibility in providing kitchen coverage and adapting to fast-paced kitchen setting.
● Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
● Familiarity with dietary restrictions and special meal accommodations for children.
● Maintain necessary credentials for ServeSafe and other necessary trainings.

Salary Range: $15- $16 pending experience

FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hours per Week: Less than 29 hours per week. It may vary each week.
