Department Summary: Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Technology Services is a central IT organization supporting the academic, research, and administrative missions of the university. Technology Services provides scalable, secure, and innovative technology solutions to all VCU units. We are seeking a Equipment Technician to join our team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Administrative Specialist is an hourly position on the MCV Campus that will assist the Customer Service Supervisor with the daily administration of the Card Office. This position will perform general administrative duties that will include, but are not limited to:
- Daily production and distribution of ID cards
- Leading front-line customer service support by being thoroughly knowledgeable of departmental policies and procedures
- Supervision, training, and development of all hourly employees
- Completes and prepares daily deposits from customer service operations
- Monitors customer service emails and responds to inquiries.
- Monitors group carding schedules or other customer service events and coordinates with office staff
- Maintains office supply inventory and ensures inventory logs are up to departmental standards
- Troubleshoots some office equipment issues
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be available to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm
- 2+ years related experience working in an administrative office
- 2+ years of accounting and cashiering experience
- Strong customer service skills with excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite
- Must be able to take initiative and work independently
- Must be able to work with a variety of personalities in professional business situations
- Must have reliable transportation and can work weekends if needed
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Salary Range: 18.00
