Department Summary: The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences supports the philosophy and mission of the University and the College of Health Professions.

The mission of the undergraduate program is to serve the health care needs of the community by providing highly competent and professional medical laboratory scientists who will be able to function effectively upon entrance into the field and be prepared to explore future scientific and technological advances in laboratory science.

The mission of the graduate program is to provide the student with advanced theoretical and technical education and prepare students to assume roles as laboratory supervisors, educators, and researchers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This position will involved delivering in-person Clinical Immunology lectures to undergraduate MLS students.  This will be a total credit load of 7 credits.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Generalist certification (MT/MLS).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively including the ability to work with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work accurately and safely under stress, adapt easily to changing environments, and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of professionalism,respect, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an adjunct faculty member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience.

Salary Range: $10,500 - $12,000
