For 25+ years, the Brandcenter has helped thousands of students launch their careers in advertising and the marketing communications industry, developing the best creative problem-solvers in the world of brands. At the Brandcenter, students interested in top careers in art direction, design, copywriting, strategy, brand management/leadership are given a comprehensive overview of the industry and current trends/issues, as well as experience developing advertising campaigns and branding projects.

The Brandcenter in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a pool of applicants on an ongoing basis for adjunct teaching positions across our programs. These positions require a candidate with patience, understanding, and an ability to motivate students to a higher level of work. The Brandcenter will contact candidates whose credentials match our teaching needs and available positions. The Brandcenter will consult the adjunct applicant pool and contact qualified applicants for interviews on an as-needed basis.

We have multiple offerings to fit students’ unique career goals and seek adjunct faculty across all programs, which include our full-time master’s program, our new evening MBA concentration in Brand Leadership (in partnership with the VCU School of Business), and our new Executive Master’s program (part-time, online offering) set to launch in Fall 2026.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teaching graduate-level students in brand strategy, research, advertising, design, and/or communications
  • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines, grade assignments in a timely manner, respond to student inquiries within 24 hours, and submit final grades according to VCU policy.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree

  • Experience in branding, advertising, or related field required

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience at a university level is preferred

  • Advanced degree
