Duties & Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Quality & Safety faculty representative for the adult urology Faculty
• Serve on any relevant Department, Hospital, SOM, or University Quality & Safety committees
• Work with Urology Residency Program Director, Associate Program Directors, and Program Coordinators to develop yearly Quality and Safety Initiatives with Urology Faculty, Residents, APPs, and other clinical staff. Initiatives should follow the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) model and should be tracked with definable milestones.
• Serve as Faculty Liaison for the VAMC, including working with VCUHS and VAMC admin staff on onboarding new faculty and management of VAMC faculty call schedules
• Serve as the VAMC residency site director
• Oversee and manage the Adult Urology Faculty leave and call schedules
• Oversee and manage the Adult Urology Faculty Attending of the Day Schedules, including working to ensure daily and overnight consults are appropriately staffed and billed.
• Maintain required MCVP faculty privileges and required annual compliance and training

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• MD degree required.
• Demonstrated experience in residency training and medical education.
• Proven leadership experience in teaching residents across all levels of training, including delivering didactic lectures and supporting progressive leadership development throughout residency.
• Strong knowledge of ACGME Urology competencies and residency program requirements.
• Expertise in urological surgery, clinical procedures, and procedural training.
• Comprehensive knowledge of urological surgical and procedural equipment, including competency assessment and training.
• Ability to mentor, evaluate, and develop residents in both clinical and academic settings as they progress in their trainings.
• Excellent communication, teaching, and leadership skills with a commitment to advancing resident education and professional growth.
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Salary Range: Commensurate
